Many acts of violence are carried out by those who don't feel safe themselves. When a person feels threatened, they protect themselves by become the offender whether it is abuse of someone they know personally, someone they can dominate or a group that represents a perceived threat. How does Patti Hale-Ashe intend to address gun violence?
Mass shootings have become rampant in America, like the school shooting in Uvalde. These acts bring the worst fears to life and make those effected feel unsafe for the rest of their life. Most of these crimes do not occur from people who go through safety and training and get a license to carry. What has been done in the past has not worked and new strategies need to be implemented to protect our citizens without infringing on the rights to obtain weapons legally. I welcome suggestions on dealing with preventing these horrendous atrocities.

How will Patti Hale-Ashe make our neighborhoods safer?
As the economy gets worse and people face challenges to pay their bills, crime increases. The best way to combat crime is to ensure people have job opportunities and fair wages. It is also important to make sure we provide resources and staffing for law enforcement. It is also important to hold offenders accountable. It would help our communities without increasing cost of incarcerating minor offenders, by sentencing them to community service.
