Patti supports our retired citizens. Retirees have worked hard their entire lives, with hopes of enjoying retirement. They have paid social security for many years, with a promise that they would be reimbursed when they reach their golden years. It is a shame that seniors do not receive enough to survive on, let alone enjoy retirement. Americans pay into  medicare throughout their lives, yet when they are eligible to enroll they are forced to pay excessive premiums and when they try to obtain care they pay even more in deductibles, copays and coinsurance. Many retirees are forced to go without care. This should not be how we treat those who worked so hard. We need to support them, as they supported past retirees with their contributions. We need to ensure those paying social security and medicare now from their earnings will have a way to retire in the future.
